Use the WHY56ND-EV Evaluation Board to rapidly prototype a complete temperature control system using the WHY56ND Temperature Controller. Drive current to a thermoelectric or resistive heater and control temperature using thermistors, or 100 Ω Platinum RTDs. Onboard switches, connectors, and trimpots make configuration and operation simple.
The WHY is not included.
There is a current enable switch with LED indicator. Complete cable sets are included. Power and monitors are on one connector. Load and sensor pins are on a second connector. To calculate sensor resistance (therefore temperature), use two monitors and an equation from the datasheet. Adjust temperature setpoint using an onboard trimpot. Measure the resistance while a switch removes the trimpot from the circuit then switch to the “Run” position to resume operation. Two SMT test points simplify the resistance measurement. Other trimpots configure heat and cool current limits, proportional gain and integrator time constant. An onboard fan connection can power a WXC303 or WXC304 (+5 V or +12 V DC fan) attached to a WHS302 heatsink.
