Safe Operating Area Calculator
The SOA (Safe Operating Area) tool calculates the internally dissipated power of a WEI device in your system. To prevent damage to the WEI device's output stage, operate below the maximum internal power specification. Note that this is a simulation. As with all thermal designs, allowing some overhead is a best practice.

To graph the maximum internal power of a WEI device:
  • Select the product.
  • Select the thermal options it comes with.
  • Click on Draw SOA curve.
  • To generate maximum power dissipation curve without a load line clear all data fields except for heatsink temperature.
To simulate how the device works in your application:
  • Fill in the rest of the data requested.
  • Click on the Find SOA Compliance button.

Required Thermal Options:

Max. Enclosure Temperature: ° C
Limit Current: Amps
Load Impedance: Ohms
Supply Voltage: Volts
