What is the best way to wire a resistive heater to my temperature controller to gain compliance voltage?
Answer
To operate any bi-polar temperature controller with a resistive heater, connect the leads of the heater as shown in Figure 1, if using a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) sensor, or Figure 2, for a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) sensor. Operation is otherwise the same as when using the controller with a thermoelectric cooler.
