The WLD3343-3L is a general purpose laser diode driver that maintains precision laser diode current (Constant Current mode) using electronics that are compatible with any laser diode type. It is designed for lower noise operation compared to the standard WLD3343-3A. It delays and slowly ramps the current for maximum protection. Supply up to 3.0 A of current to your laser diode from a single +5 V power source.

An internal thermostat shuts down the WLD safely if the device temperature exceeds 105°C. This device operates to 45°C ambient temperature. Remotely enable or disable current. Current range is scaled by an external resistor.

For Constant Power mode, 2.2 or 3 A operation, the WLD3343 and WLD3343-3A are available. To drive with lower noise in Constant Current Mode only, the WLD3343-2L drives up to 2.2 A. A circuit calculator tool speeds selection of external component values (see Design Tools tab). An evaluation board is available to simplify prototyping: WLD3393. Ask for the 3 A current range when ordering the evaluation board. Heatsinking solutions to use the WLD3343-3L at full current are available.

This laser diode driver is ideal for applications where space is tight. It is widely used in electro-optic qualification, raman spectroscopy, medical diagnostic equipment, range finders, and on research benches.
