The PTC2.5K-CH is a 2.5 Amp precision temperature controller in a small, chassis mount package. Excellent temperature stability - even across ambient - is built into this linear, bipolar controller. It drives both TECs and Resistive Heaters. The onboard setpoint is designed to stay stable across the entire operating temperature range. For 5 A of current, the PTC5K-CH is available. For 10 A of current, the PTC10K-CH is available. For up to 20 A, match the PTC10K-CH with the PTC10K-SL Current booster.
User adjustments and status indicators are easy to access. Onboard trimpots adjust current limits, setpoint, and Proportional Gain. Sensor bias currents can be configured to maximize feedback signal and sensitivity. An LED indicates when output current is enabled. An external voltage can be used for the setpoint for remote operation. If the D/A remote setpoint is turned off, unplugged or goes down, the PTC2.5K-CH automatically sets the temperature to control near ambient. Default is 25°C for a 10 kΩ thermistor (1 V). A remote Enable/Disable input is TTL compatible.
A complete cable set is included. One cable is for the sensor. One is for monitors, remote enable, and external setpoint. The third is for power and connection to TEC or Resistive Heater from the terminal strip on the PTC.
The PTC temperature controllers have a matching laser diode driver family. The PLD10K-CH and PLD5K-CH drive 10 A and 5 A of laser diode current respectively.
This product is ideal for applications where temperature stability is critical and space is tight, such as electro-optical systems, benchtop inspection instruments, and medical diagnostic equipment. The PTC is particularly suited to applications where temperature is scanned across ambient.
