How do I know whether or not I need a heat sink or a fan on my WLD laser diode driver?
Answer
Whether or not you need a heat sink and/or a fan on the WLD depends on the maximum voltage drop across the driver and the maximum current supplied by the driver. This can be calculated by plotting these values to determine the Safe Operating Area (SOA) of the controller.
