This adaptation of the standard\u00a0<a href=\"\/product\/wtc3243-2-2-a-temperature-controller\/\">WTC3243<\/a>\u00a0operates from 3.6\u00a0V, Lithium-Ion batteries. The sensor range is limited to 1.6\u00a0V (with 3.3\u00a0V power supply). Do not operate over 8\u00a0V input.<\/p>\n<p>Its package can be integrated with a heatsink\u00a0<a title=\"WHS302\" href=\"\/product\/whs302-heatsink-for-wxx-controllers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WHS302<\/a>, thermal washer\u00a0<a title=\"WTW002\" href=\"\/product\/wtw002-thermal-washer-for-wxx-controllers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WTW002<\/a>, and fans\u00a0<a title=\"WXC303\" href=\"\/product\/wxc303-5-v-fan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WXC303<\/a>\u00a0(+5\u00a0V) or<a title=\"WXC304\" href=\"\/product\/wxc304-12-v-fan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0WXC304<\/a>\u00a0(+12\u00a0V) for easy prototyping. The linear, PI control loop offers maximum stability while the bipolar current source has been designed for higher efficiency. The\u00a0WTC3243HB\u00a0drives up to 2.2\u00a0A for either Thermoelectrics (bipolar) or Resistive Heaters (unipolar).<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0WTC3243\u00a0temperature controller is easily configured for any design. A circuit calculator tool speeds selection of external component values (see Design Tools tab). Virtually any type of temperature sensor can be used with it and a built in sensor bias current source simplifies use with resistive temperature sensors. The Proportional Gain (P) and Integrator Time Constant (I) are set by external resistors and can be modified to optimize temperature overshoot and stability.<\/p>\n<p>Other features offer added flexibility. Independent heat and cool current limits are set by single resistors. An onboard reference voltage simplifies potentiometer control of the temperature setpoint. You can also choose to operate remotely with an external setpoint voltage. Monitor actual sensor voltage at pin\u00a09.<\/p>\n<p>The robust and reliable\u00a0WTC3243HB\u00a0is designed into handheld electro-optical systems, <a title=\"eye-safe atmospheric lidar\" href=\"\/applications\/#lidar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">eye-safe atmospheric lidar<\/a>, airborne instrumentation, <a title=\"raman spectrometers\" href=\"\/support\/applications\/#raman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Raman spectrometers<\/a>\u00a0and medical diagnostic equipment. The WTC is particularly suited to applications where temperature is scanned across ambient.<\/p>\n<p>Wavelength provides the free LabVIEW Virtual Instrument executable file for use with the WTC3293 Evaluation Board. Contact a Sales Engineer for assistance.<\/p>\n<p><b>WTC3243 vs.\u00a0<a title=\"WHY5640\" href=\"\/product\/why5640-2-2-a-temperature-controller\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WHY5640<\/a>:<\/b><br \/>\n&#8211; The WTC3243 incorporates remote voltage control and temperature monitor. The WHY5640 does not.<br \/>\n&#8211; The WTC3243 supports AD590 and LM335.<br \/>\n&#8211; The WHY5640 requires external circuits to operate anything other than resistive sensors.<br \/>\n&#8211; Two or more WHY5640s can be used together for more output current.<br \/>\n&#8211; If you do not need all the features of the WTC3243, the WHY5640 is a lower cost solution.<br \/>\n<b>NOTE: The WHY5640 and WTC3243 do NOT have the same pin configuration.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Free, effective, and responsive technical support is available to simplify integration of Wavelength products into your OEM design.
