Wavelength Electronics has released a new App Note detailing our Quality Assurance system. We pride ourselves on the quality of the laser drivers, temperature controllers, and accessories provided to customers in engineering, research, academia and other demanding applications all around the world. High reliability products help decrease scrap and waste, saving cost and keeping manufacturing lines running for the customer. There are many ways to assess a manufacturer\u2019s ability to produce high-quality products; however, two ways stand out as integral indicators: First Pass Yield (FPY) and the number of Return Materials Authorizations (RMA). The engineering and manufacturing teams at Wavelength Electronics have worked hard to optimize these rates for customer ease of use and peace of mind. Return rate of 0.1% means for every 1000 pieces shipped, only one is returned.<\/p>\n

He comes to us from Big Sky Medical Center, where he served as a Clinical Engineer.\u00a0 Prior to that role, he was an Engineering Supervisor at Xtant Medical.<\/p>\n

VIDEO: WTC32ND-14 Mini-Instrument Quick Start<\/em><\/a><\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1716241023875{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]The WTC32ND-14 is a mini-instrument temperature controller with a temperature display and onboard adjustments. Wrapped around the precision WTC32ND temperature controller, it is configured for use with a TCS610 10 k\u03a9 thermistor and various thermoelectrics driving up to \u00b12.2 Amps. The controller is particularly suited to applications where temperature is scanned across ambient, such as electro-optical systems, LIDAR, Raman spectroscopy, and medical diagnostic equipment. CASE STUDY: Active Ring Resonators Using Mid-Infrared QCLs<\/a><\/em><\/h4>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1716241496238{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Researchers in Massachusetts, Austria, and Portugal have designed an active mid-infrared ring resonator incorporating a quantum cascade active region in the waveguide core with directional couplers. The resonance frequency, quality factor, and coupling regime and coefficients can all be tuned electrically to better fit multiple applications. By changing these parameters, the active ring resonator can act as a tunable filter, a nonlinear frequency converter, or a frequency comb generator. This design allows active ring resonator integration into the mid-infrared spectral region (3-12 \u03bcm) for a variety of applications in photonic integrated circuits with significant power output of 10 mW for spectroscopy, communication, and microwave generation.<\/p>\n

All laser devices, including a Fabry-Perot QCL, were driven with Wavelength Electronics’ low-noise current drivers QCL1500 LAB or QCL2000 LAB and their temperature was stabilized at 16\u00baC using Wavelength Electronics’ low thermal drift temperature controller TC5 LAB. It was critical to have precise control of the drive current as the probe wavelength was tuned by ramping the injection current. The RT QCL operation state is highly dependent on the injection current especially when dealing with frequency comb generation. The high performance and precision of Wavelength Electronics provided the necessary stability of the laser sources in the active mid-IR ring resonators.<\/p>\n
